Nowadays, girls are being exposed to sex and erotic dancewear much earlier in the pop music they listen to and the videos they watch on MTV and BET. There's a lot of eroticism in rap videos and if you are the mother of a young girl you need to decide if your girl is old enough to watch some of these rap music videos uncensored.
Mothers need to talk to their girls about the importance of staying virgins until they are fully matured sexually and emotionally. Introduce good books about sex to your teenage girls as additional educational tools about sex and their growing, changing bodies. Let them know that they can ask questions about anything they do not understand or want more information on.
It is important that you allow your girls to learn about sex in a healthy and non-threatening environment. Whatever you do try not to let your girls learn about sex from their peers or from over-exposure to the sexually explicit hip hop videos on BET or MTV.
